TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - The University of Alabama System reported the schools' COVID-19 numbers, as one of their three schools saw student cases increase, and one school saw numbers decrease since last week.

UA - 34 positive tests

UAB - 64 positive tests

UAH - 3 positive tests

UA System officials are closely monitoring health and safety practices at UA, UAB and UAH.

Key results of the Oct. 9-15 COVID-19 testing program in the UA System:

  • The weekly University of Alabama System COVID-19 dashboard published Friday reports 101 new student cases among the 70,400 students on the three UA System campuses (UA, UAB and UAH).
  • There are 33 students in isolation facilities, which have a system-wide capacity of 705 beds.
  • An increase in student cases at UAB (from 49 last week to 64 for the current testing period) is primarily the result of virus transmission at off-campus gatherings.

The breakdown of total student cases by university from 8/18 to 10/15:

UA - 2,612

UAB - 369

UAH - 78

The UA System will continue to update the dashboard weekly. For more information, visit this link.
