DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The former mayor of Kinsey is taking his old seat back. Jason Reneau reclaimed the seat defeating Anthony White in yesterday’s run-off.

He is a long time resident of Kinsey. He served as the Kinsey mayor for 12 years, from 2004 to 2016. Reneau said he enjoys giving back to the community, serving as the Fire Chief at the Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department since 2016.

Reneau has also spent 12 years serving on the town council. He shares what he has planned for the next four years.

“We are going to get our police department back up and going, hire a police chief, get our force back to full force," Reneau said. "Do some community cleanup and also the sewer. We’ve got a rural development grant to do some maintenance to it and we’re also going to be getting a grant to build a lot of treatment plants. So, the next three or four years are going to be crucial to get everything gone and processed to get this grant complete.”

Reneau will officially take over as mayor on November 2.
