COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WTVY) - The Coffee County School System is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 this week.

According to a press release from Coffee County Schools Superintendent Kevin Killingsworth, two faculty members have tested positive. One faculty member is from Zion Chapel School, and the other works at New Brockton Elementary School. Killingsworth says there have been 23 total cases in the first nine weeks of school.

“A great amount of planning, organization, dedication and hard work has gone into making this first nine weeks of school pass without major complications,” says Killingsworth. All of our employees deserve to be recognized for their tremendous efforts. Our five nurses have gone above and beyond to make our schools safe. Without our nurses we would not have been able to make it to this point. A very special thank you to each one of them!"
