Hurricane Sally Impacts
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Hurricane Sally will continue delivering excessive rainfall throughout the entire day. Expect constant showers all during the day. A flash flood warning will be lasting till 4:30pm.
Hurricane Sally is only moving to the NNE at 3 mph. The extremely slow movement is what will lead to excessive rainfall totals that could easily break previous records as we are expecting accumulations of 8″+.
Sally will continue to move through the southeast all throughout the day. We really will not see the end of the storm till roughly later Thursday morning.
As the center of the storm moves closer to the Wiregrass (by 1pm), there will be increasing threats for tropical storm force winds (39mph+) and of course flooding will certainly by of our greatest concern. The threat for tornadoes will be present during the afternoon also. They will likely by brief and weak but We will continue to keep updates coming throughout the day.
