Enterprise Mayor Bill Cooper has tested positive for COVID-19.

Cooper has quarantined himself at home.

“I am feeling fine. I’m not experiencing any serious symptoms,” he said by phone to his office Wednesday. “But I do not want to run the risk of infecting anyone else, so I am staying home as the state health and safety guidelines direct.”

Cooper was tested out of precaution after coming into contact with a family member who had tested positive.

He is currently in a runoff election with candidate Bill Baker.

Despite the positive test, he doesn’t plan on slowing down.

“I am communicating with my staff and working work from home, but I fully expect to come back to City Hall and begin to serve the City in person by next week,” Cooper said.
