MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WTVY) -An Ozark man convicted of one murder charge, and awaiting trial on another, has pleaded guilty to gun charges. Michell Byron Doster, 44, admits he illegally possessed an unregistered firearm. He will be sentenced in November.

Doster is no stranger to courtrooms. Last February, a Dale County jury found him guilty of murdering Ricky Dease, shot during an drug dispute. Sentencing has been delayed because of COVID.

In another case, Doster is charged with murdering 22-year Orchid Bolin, whose body was found in Barbour County. Doster was on bond when Bolin died.

In 1999, Doster faced another murder charge but, in a deal, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and received a 16-year prison sentence.

Court documents do not reveal whether the unregistered gun Doster possessed has been used in any of the crimes he’s been charged with committing.
