4WARN Tropical Update
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - All our attention continues on the two tropical waves in the Atlantic, with the first one quickly approaching the Caribbean sea.
The first tropical wave continues to quickly slide towards the southern Caribbean. It will likely become a bit less organized once it travels further northward, but will still maintain a few clusters of thunderstorms. Once it makes its way into the northwestern Caribbean, it may gain a bit more speed and moisture, allowing it to strengthen. We will continue to monitor this system as it travels during the week.
The second wave is continuing to strengthen in the far Atlantic. It is beginning to enter an area where waters are fairly warmer and there are less atmospheric forces keeping it from weakening. It is expected to become a tropical depression within the next 5 days. It will be entering the eastern Caribbean by next week where we will continue to monitor its activity and path.
