DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Saturday afternoon Mama Tina’s Mission House in Dothan will celebrate its 14th year of service with a cookout.

The cookout will start at 2:00 PM at 605 North Alice Street, Dothan.

The organization says even though masks wil lbe provided and social distancing wil lbe enforced there should be plenty of fun and celbration to be found.

There will be a cook off challenge on the grills, bounce house for the kids, and lots of entertainment.

When WTVY interviewed Moma Tina in 2017, she said she opened the mission house to help folks in the neighborhood.

“This is a drug infested area. And a lot of people in this area get high off drugs and alcohol and what not. But if they come and eat it wears the body down, so it causes harm reduction. Where now they’re going to go to sleep. Instead of roaming the streets at night and try to break into your house.”
