UPDATE FROM DOTHAN CITY SCHOOLS
“On Monday, August 17, 2020, Dothan City Schools Athletic Department was notified of a positive case of COVID-19 within our Dothan High School Football Program. After conferring with the Alabama Department of Public Health, it is recommended that the entire football team quarantines due to APDH’s COVID-19 guidelines. As a result, Dothan High will not travel to compete against Hoover on August 21st and will not host Park Crossing on August 28th. The DHS Football Program is scheduled to resume its program and games by September 4th against Enterprise High School.
This decision was made to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our area. We understand this decision will be difficult and will be a disappointment for our community, students, and families. A change in competition does not diminish anyone’s achievements, but the health of our students and our students’ families are at the forefront of our decision.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all work together to keep our students, families, employees, and schools safe and healthy. We will provide updates as more information becomes available. Please continue to monitor our website and social media for updates.”
