OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) - The Ozark airport is growing. A new 10 space hangar is on the way.

“This is our second set of hangars we’ve had through state grants or city participation,” said Adrian Holman - Chairman of Airport Advisory

Even better news, this is a cash flow positive project for the city.

“This will not be any cost to the city overall because it is paying for itself,” said Holman.

The city and county believe they will benefit much more than just a monthly rental fee.

“They come here and not only rent the hangar but they are going to buy fuel they are going to get maintenance done we’ve got a maintenance facility here on the field and they are going to pay the taxes to Dale County and the city,” said Holman.

This isn’t the final expansion planned for the airport.

“We hope that Dr. Eagerton and the states aeronautics commission will allow us to make applications for another grant and we can have another ten space hangar which will give us 30 spaces here in these new modern hangars,” said Holman.

Airport officials hope to have the hangars occupied by October 1st.
