The Enterprise Senior Center is finding ways to entertain its seniors.

Seniors cannot come into the senior center, so the next best thing is parking lot bingo where seniors sit in their cars with a card hoping for some luck.

"We were trying to do something for our seniors since they cannot frequent on the inside and we know that they love to play bingo," said Enterprise Community Service Coordinator Birgit Briggs

For these seniors, it is more than just a game of bingo.

“The getting out of our homes that’s the most important thing,” said Rita Bowman. “We enjoy playing the games, but it’s been a good opportunity for us to see our friends and enjoy them.”

"It's a great outlet for us to get out because we're all suffering from separation anxiety and cabin fever," said Regina Harper.

It is more than the game that has been missed since the start of the pandemic.

"The main thing is the camaraderie and seeing all of our friends that we don't get to see on a daily basis anymore," said Blue Martin.

“That’s basically what I miss,” Gloria Rodriguez continued. “I miss coming to the center and we’re all inside having a great time playing different games and the camaraderie. I miss really being around the people.”

"Being able to mix and mingle because we can't do that now," Regina added.

It is also not too late for anyone 60 and older looking to join in on the fun.

"We welcome anybody in the community to come out and participate in our program," Birgit finished.
