OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) - The Carroll Eagles welcome in a new head coach for the 2020 season.

After Roger McDonald left the program after seven seasons, Patrick Plott has been hired to lead the Carroll program.

Plott brings lots of experience with him including nine years as a head coach and a state championship back in 2013 while at Pickens County.

While Plott's overall goal is to add another state title to his resume, he also believes in more than on the field product.

"We want these guys to be excellent on and off the field," said Plott. "That's our number one goal. We got things set in place for them to do that. We're going to take it one game at a time and see what happens. We're going to play hard and expect the guys to go out and play 100% and see what happens. Every year our goal is going to be the same. Our goal is going to be to go out and win a state championship and win the region. So if we don't do that, we're not successful in my opinion."

Carroll will open the season against Eufaula.
