ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WTVY) - Labrian Stewart is back in the head coaching ranks in the Wiregrass.

The former Northview head coach has taken over as the head football coach at Abbeville High School.

Stewart hasn’t had much time to work with his players as he was hired on in mid-July but has lots of talent to work with. The Yellow Jackets have been one of the more successful teams in the area the last few seasons. 27 wins over three seasons and a region title in 2018.

Stewart is hopeful that success will carry over into his first season with the yellow jackets.

“You look at taking over a program and you don’t have to go in there and give the speech on how to win,” said Stewart. “They already know how to win. My job is to just go in and not mess it up and add to what they’ve built over the last few years. I’m just grateful the administration believed in me enough to stand behind and voted me to be the head coach.”

The Yellow Jackets begin the 2020 season against Headland.
