DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The Dothan Houston County Library System Friends of the Library book sale looks a little different this year. Due to COVID-19 and the high risk of too many people getting together, this year they decided to have two mini book sales rather than one large one.

The books are distanced and the staff continually sanitizes them to ensure safety. Both Fiction and Non-Fiction books are available for purchase at the Main library and Westgate branch. Various genres are available for all ages as well as some DVD’s.

Derrick Tiller, Branch Manager, said now is a crucial time to read.

“Reading books and getting that information and getting that knowledge is vital, especially during this time where students have been out of school for months and getting them back into the norm of learning and studying and those type of things,” Tiller said. “So reading is vital to any person and any age group.”

There is no set end date for the sale yet.

You can go to either location to purchase books on Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
