DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -Congressional candidate Barry Moore believes Republicans can attract Democrats who may be frustrated with the Democratic Party.

“That party has been hijacked by the left so we have an opportunity, as Republicans, to love across the aisle to reach people who say “this is no longer my party,” Barry Moore said Thursday.

He and other staunch GOP members attended the opening of Houston County Republican Headquarters in Dothan.

Brandon Shoupe, the county executive committee chairman, held up a suitcase telling the enthusiastic crowd that it's time to send (Democratic U.S. Senator) Doug Jones packing.

Jones appears the most formidable Democratic candidate statewide, with a $9 million dollars campaign war chest to combat Tommy Tuberville.

The Houston County Republican Headquarters is at Bel Aire Shopping Center, 3124 West Main Street, Dothan.
