Ozark completes Civic Giants Hall of Honor

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) - The City of Ozark and the Ozark Bicentennial Committee is pleased to announce that the Ozark Civic Giants Hall of Honor has been completed! The Hall of Honor is located in the Ozark Civic Center (320 East College St, Ozark, AL) and features framed photos of our Civic Giants:
Business: Luther Boykin
Military: Abner Flowers
Arts: Judge Jackson
Religion: Bishop Emeritus Willie Wilbur Matthews
Medicine: Dr. Robert McLaughlin
Education (2): Dove Alfred "D.A." Smith and Emma Payne Flowers
Agriculture: William Douglas Thomason
Government: Henry Bascom Steagall, II
Please join us for a *come-and-go viewing on Friday, August 7, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Civic Center front entrance (at the ticket booth) will be open for everyone interested in viewing our new Ozark Civic Giants Hall of Honor. Masks and 6-foot social distancing will be required.
*In an effort to reduce crowd size (due to COVID-19), this will be in informal come-and-go event and large non-household related gatherings will be discouraged. If you would like to view the hall at a later date, please contact the Civic Center at 334-774-2618.
