COLUMBIA, Ala. (WTVY) - Chip Harris makes his triumphant return to the sidelines at Houston County in 2020.

Harris returns to lead the Lions, a team in which he coached from 1997-2001. Harris and the Lions were dominant during that time making the playoffs every year but one.

Harris takes over a Lions team coming off a disappointing 1-9 season a year ago. To turn this program back around, Harris is trying to change the mentality of his team.

"You gotta have a desire to win and something inside of you that refuses to lose," said Harris. "That's kind of built through culture. It's not some magic offense or magic defense. It's a culture. That's the biggest thing we are working on right now. Trying to change the culture to a mindset of every Friday night, we want to win a ball game."

Houston County will open the 2020 season against Northside Methodist.
