BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Infamous Alabama fan Harvey Updyke has died at the age of 71, nine years after he admittedly poisoned the iconic oak trees in Toomer’s Corner at Auburn University.

UpDyke’s son Bear Updyke confirmed that his father passed away Thursday. Updyke died in Louisiana, where he had been living.

Harvey Updyke loved Alabama football and coaching softball.
