ASHFORD, Ala. (WTVY) - The Ashford Police Department is warning residents about an increase in scam calls to the area.

Police say the callers are pretending to be the Publisher’s Clearing House and other businesses. The scammers ask for victims’ account numbers and provide instructions on how to send money.

Police remind residents to never give out any information to an unsolicited caller, especially your date of birth and social security number.
