DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Byron Scott Daniels, 30, was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and Cocaine as well as Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. He now sits behind bars in the Houston County Jail with no bond.
“The Houston County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force along with the Houston County SRT: Special Response Team and patrol executed a search warrant on the 800 block on Montana St. in Dothan,” Sheriff Valenza said.
Seven people were in the home when they arrived. Inside the residence police recovered approximately 74 grams of cocaine, approximately 48 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 26 grams of Xanax, four handguns, one AR-15 and over $1,400 cash.
This is not the first time Daniels has been in this position. Daniels has been in and out of jail for over a decade.
“He is a previously convicted felon therefore he shouldn’t be in possession of any of these firearms,” Sheriff Valenza said.
Daniels troubles began in 2009. Since then he’s been arrested multiple times. In 2015 he was convicted for trafficking synthetic marijuana. He has also faced robbery and burglary charges in the past.
Sheriff Valenza thanked the other agencies for their help in the arrest. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office said this investigation is still ongoing and further charges are expected.
