UPDATE: DeFuniak Springs missing teen found
DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. (WJHG) - UPDATE: Deputies say Michael Congo has reached out to his mother and has been processed and returned home.
A 16-year-old DeFuniak Springs teenager is missing and sheriff’s deputies and his family need the public’s help in locating him.
Walton County Sheriff’s deputies say Michael Congo has not been seen since he left his home on Rock Hill Road in DeFuniak Springs on June 23, 2020. We’re told he left without any clothing, money or a vehicle. He’s known to frequent the Freeport area - more specifically Black Creek.
Congo is a white male with dark brown hair and eyes. Deputies tell us his hair is naturally curly, and he typically has some type of facial hair. The 16-year-old is about 5′8″ tall and weighs roughly 140lbs. Congo has several tattoos on his chest and arms.
Because of an active warrant for drug possession, deputies say the teen has been avoiding his family and law enforcement.
