DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -Moore sent texts out to family and friends reminding them to vote last night and to encourage others to vote.

He says last night and this morning he took part in a “get out and vote” effort and will be going out to sign waving crews this afternoon with his family to thank them and to encourage everyone to vote. Moore hoping to take the seat currently held by representative Martha Ruby.

Ruby is not seeking re-election…paving the way for seven candidates to qualify for the republican primary. Moore ended up finishing second among the group. He hopes tonight ends with him on top.

Barry Moore says,

“Please get out and vote, I mean that’s a right that this nation has given us that so many have fought and died for, and I think it’s important, it’s very important that we exercise that right. You cannot complain about your government if you do not participate in the process of electing your leadership, and so certainly we need to pray, we need to pray for our elections, but faith without works is dead so you got to show up and vote.”
