DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The polls have closed in Alabama’s primary runoff election.

The U.S. Senate runoff between former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Tommy Tuberville has gained national attention. The winner of the GOP runoff will face Senator Doug Jones in November.

Locally the fight between Barry Moore and Jeff Coleman for the Republican candidacy for the U.S. House District 2 will be decided. The incumbent Rep. Martha Roby announced she would not seek reelection. The winner will face Democrat Phyllis Harvy-Hall in November.

WTVY Reporters are will the candidates and their supporters at watch parties across the state. There’ll be on-air cutins and periodic updates on Facebook throughout the evening.
