DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - We officially have our sixth named storm of the early 2020 tropical season. Tropical storm Fay was centered about 75 miles ENE of Cape Charles VA Friday morning heading north towards the Jersey coast and is forecast to make landfall on the southern New Jersey shoreline later this afternoon. Wind speeds have peaked at about 50-60 mph near the center with consistent 30-40 mph winds away from the center and outer bands. Heavy rain, gusty winds and high surf will impact New Jersey, New York and other coastal areas through Friday night into Saturday morning before the remnants fizzle out over parts of Canada.
