Alabama lands the "Upper Hand" in Recruiting

When it comes to Alabama recruiting, the rich get richer.

The nation's top-rated defensive end prospect for the class of 2014, Woodbridge, Va. star Da'Shawn Hand, chose the Tide over Michigan and Florida.

Hand, a 6-foot-4, 254-pound prospect rated a unanimous five-star prospect by the major recruiting services.

"It was hard but I think I made the right decision. Roll Tide."

Hand is rated the No. 1 player in the nation by, No. 5 in the nation in the 247Composite rankings and No. 6 overall by ESPN. Hand will play in the Under Armour All-America Game in January.

Alabama now holds 23 commitments for its 2014 recruiting class and is ranked No. 1 by all four major recruiting services.
