Chipley, Fla -- Officials are searching for 18-year-old Devante Keon Thomas, who was involved in a home invasion. Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports two arrests already in connection with the overnight home invasion on Monday, March 17th.
Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Garret Road in reference to a home invasion around 12:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found the victim with a laceration to his head and bleeding profusely. The victim told investigators that he was in his home, heard something that alarmed him and then was attacked by three men. The victim stated that one of the suspects was armed and during the altercation he was struck by a weapon on his head and one of the suspects fired a shot. The suspects were able to escape with an undisclosed amount of cash.
While on the phone with WCSO dispatchers, the victim was able to give a location the suspects left traveling in as well as a vehicle description. A Chipley Police Department officer stopped a vehicle matching the suspects’ vehicle description. During the traffic stop, the CPD officer took one of the suspects into custody while two others were able to flee on foot in the Orange Street area of Chipley.
23-year-old Brandon Terrell Ramsey and 22-year-old were both arrested for home invasion, burglary with battery, and grand theft.
