MALONE -- Forty-nine men graduated from Genesis: Faith & Character Based (FCB) Dormitory Residential Program on Monday at Jackson Correctional Institution.

They completed at least 35 courses led by Inmate Peer Facilitators and citizen volunteers. The inmates must complete at least 1,592 hours to attain the Basic Successful Graduation.

The Genesis FCB members live together in a community and rely on each other to succeed.

Their next step is a transition to a program Jackson CI came up with called Exodus. Because they have completed their first year, and may not remain successful in general population just yet, they will act as facilitators or mentors for new members.
