Beveryle Magnet Recognizes World Autism Day

The Centers for Disease Control and prevention estimates Autism affects one in 68 children.

Wednesday, is the 7th Annual World Autism Awareness Day.
Students and teachers at Beverlye Magnet School showed their support by wearing blue.

Several students have family members who have been diagnosed with the disability, but say they are equipped to do anything they put their mind to.

One 8th grader, who is autistic, encouraged others with the disability to never give up,

"I have mild and sometimes it can be hard and very difficult, your goal is to be normal don't give up, be vigilant keep working no matter how long it is going to take because eventually it is going to pay off in the very end," said Kristan Pace, student at Beverlye Magnet School.

Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the US.
