(NBC News Channel) - McDonald's is promising more Szechuan sauce after its first batch sold out.
The fast-food chain offered up the rare condiment from the 1990s on Saturday, but the promotion ended with many customers empty-handed.
Some packets of the sauce even ended up on online sites like eBay, selling for sky-high prices.
McDonald's has since acknowledged its "super-limited batch" was no enough to meet demand.
It says the sauce will return in the winter and will be more widely available than Saturday's promotion.
