Study looks into why yawns are contagious

(NBC News Channel) And finally, there's an answer to a question some of us may have lost sleep over -- Why are yawns contagious?

A new study suggests contagious yawning may be triggered by reflexes in the area of the brain responsible for motor function.

It's similar to what happens when we imitate others' accents without realizing it.

Humans aren't the only ones who yawn when others do, dogs and chimpanzees have the same reflex!
