United Kingdom (APTN / CBS Newspath) -- This year marks the 40th anniversary of "Star Wars" and to celebrate Disney has teamed up with banknote manufacturer De La Rue to produce a commemorative "Star Wars" bank note.

"It won't surprise you to know that they represent two of the main elements within the 'Star Wars' saga which is the light side and of course the dark side," explains Julian Payne, creative director at De La Rue.

"On the front is Rey and Luke Skywalker and the Millennium Falcon. And on the back we have Snoke and Kylo Ren. So I think it really captures what the essence of what the new film, what Episode 8 is about."

While not legal tender, the manufactures hope fans will have a lot of fun looking at the notes and say they "capture the essence" of the eighth instalment in the movie series, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," which hits screens this December.

"What you will also see across the note is the figure eight appearing repeatedly," explains Payne.

"Within them there are a number of features that we've sequestered within the design. So of them are quite obvious, some of them are less obvious and you have to look very closer to spot them. I'll give you a few clues on a few of the obvious ones though. So up here we have the figure eight which 'Star Wars' fans will recognize immediately as being a representation of BB8. On the dark side of the note there is a similar opposite number that they can look at. The numbering which you would see normally on a bank note, and here on this commemorative note it's no different, is its serial number. But the serial number fans will recognize instantly as the release date of the original 'Star Wars' film and the release date of Episode 8."

The note will be available on ebay.co.uk, with all proceeds being donated to Together for Short Lives - a U.K.-based charity which supports children's hospices and children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.
