SpaceX rocket set to blast off later today from Florida

Cape Canaveral, Florida (NBC News Channel) -- Today, SpaceX is scheduled to launch its 14th Falcon 9 rocket this year from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

This launch was initially scheduled about six weeks ago, but the hurricane season has kept the rocket grounded.

SpaceX first postponed the launch because of Hurricane Irma.

Then again, last week, the rocket stayed on the launch pad because Hurricane Nate was on the way.

Today is the first window of opportunity since the end of August.
