TROY, AL (WTVY) Following Troy University’s win over the University of South Alabama last Thursday, a Facebook page and Twitter account urging AP and Coaches Poll voters to #RankTroy sprouted up and the movement gained momentum quickly.

The fan-created and fan-driven social media accounts feature a Rank Troy highlight video which has been viewed more than 100,000 times by people in 44 states. References to the Rank Troy movement and it’s highlight video have been shared on Facebook and Twitter thousands of time and supporters of the social media movement include Senator Cam Ward, Representative Chris Blackshear and Troy Alumnus and CNN correspondent, Tom Foreman.

The Rank Troy movement hopes to convince voters and sports fans that the football team deserves to be ranked in the Top 25. With only one loss that occurred in the final seconds of the Clemson game on a questionable call, tens of thousands of Troy Alumni and college football fans have bought into the idea that it is time to “Rank Troy.”
