Quinton Ross resigns from AL Senate

ALABAMA -- (WTVY) Simultaneously, he became President of Alabama State University in Montgomery.
Ross had represented Montgomery County in the Legislature since 2002.
He was leader of the Democratic leadership in the Senate.
As ASU President, Ross will earn $300,000 per year.
Governor Kay Ivey set the dates for a Special Election to fill the seat.
The Primary will be December 12th, the same day as the Special Election for the US Senate.
