Police: Marijuana by mail scheme results in three arrests

ANDALUSIA, Ala. (WTVY) — Three Covington County residents have been arrested on drug charges, after a joint investigation by the U.S. Postal Service, ALEA, and the Covington County Drug Task Force.

Agents learned about a plan to send marijuana through the mail from California to an Andalusia address.

Demeki Rashun Smith, 37 and Jason Wayne Barth, 37 of Andalusia were arrested along with Shaina Lane, 29 of Opp.

About 5 pounds of marijuana was seized during the arrests.

All suspects have been charged with Trafficking Marijuana.
