UPDATE: 2nd suspect in Ozark Robbery/Home Invasion in custody

The Ozark-Dale County 911 Dispatch received a call of a possible robbery at Lake and Acres Mobile Home Park, off of County Road 36. Officials tell us the homeowner shot a suspect, who was later airlifted to a Dothan area hospital.

Shortly after midnight a team of investigators from the Dale County Sheriff's Office, Ozark Police Department and Dothan Police Department took Michael Smith into custody in Dothan.

Smith was booked into the Dale County Jail on charges of murder and robbery.

The man shot in a home invasion in Ozark Wednesday night has died, and police have identified a second suspect.

They're looking for 27-year-old Michael Ethan Smith of Ozark. He will face first-degree robbery charges.

Investigators say Smith and 24-year-old Steven Ammons broke into a mobile home at Lake and Acres around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and tried to rob the homeowner. Police say one of the suspects had a gun and shots were exchanged with the homeowner. Ammons was wounded and died at a Dothan hospital Wednesday morning.

Shots fired late Wednesday night at a mobile home leave a suspected robber in critical condition.

The Ozark-Dale County 911 Dispatch received a call of a possible robbery at Lake and Acres Mobile Home Park, off of County Road 36.

Officials tell us the homeowner shot a suspect, who was later airlifted to a Dothan area hospital.

They tell us the suspect is in critical condition.

Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker says the investigation is ongoing and there may be a second suspect.
