Ozark Police: robber struck business for the second time New Years Eve

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) — New Year's Eve Ozark Police were called to the Microtel Hotel for an armed robbery. Ozark Police believe the robbery was committed by a suspect that had previously hit the business on December 4th.

Officers received the call around 9:45pm Sunday night. When they arrived the clerk said the masked suspect had entered and rummaged through several items behind the desk.

The clerk said the robber had a handgun. The clerk and suspect exchanged gunfire, though there were no injuries. The robber fled on foot.

Police think Sunday night's robber is one that struck the same business on December 4th. In both cases it was a single man armed with a handgun looking for cash.

If anyone has any information about this crime you are urged to call the Ozark Police Department or your local law enforcement agency.
