November is Stomach Cancer Awareness Month

Stomach Cancer also called gastric cancer can develop in any part of the stomach and may spread throughout the stomach to nearby lymph nodes and organs. The American Cancer Society estimates for 2017 nearly 28,000 stomach cancers will be diagnosed in the United States and almost 11,000 will die. The average age of people when they diagnosed with stomach cancer is 69. The average risk that a person will develop stomach cancer in their lifetime is 1 in 111 and the risk factor is higher in men than women.
