New program promotes understanding of nature

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - A new program is being offered in the Wiregrass and across Alabama.

It's called the Master Naturalist program.
The 8 week program is put on by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
It focuses on the natural resources of Alabama.
Tuesday's topics included weather and climate.
There to discuss these topics were our very own meteorologists, Caroline Ritter and Lauren Linahan.

Bence Carter, who is a Forestry, Wildlife, and Natural Resources agent says:
"You know this program also kind of builds a group of volunteers that can help spread the knowledge and the information gained from the master naturalist program."

The program meets every other week on Tuesdays.
If you're interested in participating, contact your local extension office.
