DOTHAN -- (WTVY) Janasky Fleming has defeated Jemmie Watford in a runoff for the Dothan City Commission District 2 seat.

Fleming got 67% of the votes. Watford had 33%.

Fleming will represent a portion of Dothan's east side. He says he's humbled by the outcome and looks forward to serving his community.

"All the candidates that ran with me, you put yourself out there and you put your family out there," said Fleming. "We're not perfect. People magnify the great things and sometimes they point out the flaws. Overall it was a positive process. I got to meet people and talk with people and I just want to make our city proud."

Fleming will replace Amos Newsome as District 2 Commissioner.
