Dothan, AL (WTVY)- A man suspected of robbing a Dothan store before he was injured during a high-speed pursuit with police died.

Dothan Police Lieutenant Brian Smith confirmed that Robert Daniel Kelly, 49, passed away Wednesday at a hospital. Smith said investigators were notified Thursday.

Kelley allegedly robbed a convenience store along Montgomery Highway early Tuesday. Officers responding to the robbery spotted the suspect’s car and gave chase. The pursuit ended on West Main Street (near Brannon Stand Road) when Kelley’s car allegedly sideswiped another one and flipped at least twice.

Court records indicate Kelley resided in several Alabama cities but much of his adult life was spent in Shelby County.
