Look out for the Stop sign arm on school buses

School is back in session and that means some drivers are ignoring the stop signs on school buses Jay Bruner, the director of transportation for Dothan city schools said they receive around 30 calls a day of people running through school bus stop signs. In Dothan, it's a $200 fine plus a minimum $180 court fee. The only instance when you're not required to stop for a school bus is on a four lane road with a median in the middle. Bruner says a stop typically takes 30 seconds to a minute. But some people are jeopardizing lives to save time. Bruner said over 1,700 stop sign arms are ran through a day in Alabama and there were 14 million violations in the U.S. in 2016.
