DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — A group from Ridgecrest Baptist Church is headed to Texas to help families rebuild after Hurricane Harvey.
The church is part of the Southern Baptist Convention Relief Program.
They are sending twelve volunteers to help go through and help people find what belongings they still have.
They will be taking out sheet rock, carpet and anything else impacted by the flood water.
Executive Pastor Chuck Locke says this is something they feel led to do.
He says, "It is really the call of the truth of the gospel, when we get out of the church, our motto is out of the pew and into the street. We meet people where there needs are. We love the lord and we love people."
The group is leaving at 6am Thursday morning and they will be in Texas for five days.
