MARIANNA, FL (WTVY) -- A Marianna 6-year-old is in critical condition after police say he was accidentally shot.

It happened at an apartment on Town-House Drive in Marianna, Florida. Investigators say the child was accidentally shot by a family member on Friday.
But have not said who pulled the trigger.
The child was air-lifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Officers have arrested the child's mother's boyfriend. He's charged with convicted felon in possession of a gun. But he has not been named a suspect in this shooting.

When asked about the shooting, Cheree Edwards an investigator at the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, says "We're still trying to work out the kinks as to who actually might have had the gun, the position of the gun, and all that type of information, at this point we're not quite sure who the shooter is, we just know it was someone in the home."

This is the second time this month a child in Jackson County has been shot.
