DOTHAN, Al. (WTVY) -- Hundreds walked the trail at Kiwanis Park at Westgate to raise awareness for suicide prevention. The Out of the Darkness walks are the largest fundraiser for the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention. This is the 7th year a walk has been held in the Wiregrass.
According to AFSP over 44,000 people die a year from suicide. They raised over $16,000, which will go towards things like awareness programs in high schools and scientific studies.
