In other parts of the Northeast, it was a messy commute during evening rush hour after snow started accumulating in the afternoon and into the evening.

Commuters experienced slow traffic all across the region, including in New York City, Connecticut, parts of New Jersey and in Philadelphia.

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Erie-area, through Saturday (Dec. 16) afternoon, with several more inches of snow expected.
