Thunderstorms brought up to five inches of rain in some areas, prompting businesses to shut down due to floodwater.

Most counties in northern Illinois were under a Flash Flood Warning from Friday afternoon to late Saturday evening.

A major river cruise line shut down all operations as floodwater crept up to entrances of restaurants and shops along the waterfront.

Water levels rose to just above two inches near O'Hare International Airport -- shattering a record of over one inch set back in 2003.

Several areas experienced record rainfall and high winds that caused damage.
