The G.W. Carver Museum in Dothan started the second weekend of Black History Month with a day of family fun.
They hosted a family tour and activity day filled with arts and crafts and G.W. Carver inspired science experiments and a bouncy house.
The museum's tour director says she hopes the kids felt inspired to pursue their dreams after Saturday’s event.
"I wanted to inspire them, especially the kids who haven't been here before,” said Denise Durr. “My goal every day is to inspire them, to let them know they can do anything… Most of these people did stuff with a lot of obstacles, and our kids now have Google and IPads and things like that, but I want to show them that if they work hard, they can achieve anything."
The next Black History Month event is "Dinner at the Carver” on February 16th from 7-10:00 pm.
