Fanaticon draws over 900 passionate fans to Ozark

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) The recent Wiregrass pop culture convention, Fanaticon, attracted over 900 people to the area during the past weekend.

The recent Wiregrass pop culture convention, Fanaticon, attracted over 900 people to the area during the past weekend. According to convention creator and Fanatix owner Phillip Chalker, between 910 and 950 people attended the event in Ozark.

It took place at the Ozark Civic Center on November 11th and November 12th. Featuring a cosplay contest, NERF combat, vendors selling their art, video game contests, and panels on a variety of topics, the convention also hosted two voice actors—Jason Marsden and Courtenay Taylor.

According to Chalker, one vendor from North Carolina reported that Fanaticon gave them their 4th best Saturday in their last 25 shows.

Fanaticon covers a variety of genres and fields of interest from animation, science fiction, video gaming, horror, comic books, and more.
