Eufaula High School broadens computer science class and receives national award

EUFAULA, Ala. (WTVY) - Getting students excited about a computer science program can be tricky, that's why one wiregrass school is getting rewarded for its efforts.

Eufaula High School received the 2017 award for being a Champion of Computer Science School. In just one year, Eufaula enrolled 800% more minorities in computer science and 200% more girls, the award comes from the "Computer Science Teachers Association" and "Code.org."

There were 11 students enrolled the first year and now there are 60.
